Aniline dye powder weight

I just bought a digital scale(max. 16oz/500g). I used different nickels to verify it's accuracy. they all weigh 5g.
I weighed some 1oz powder I purchased from Woodcraft-not to cast any shadow on their reputation, they are good people- and they were less than an ounce.
Those I bought from Lockwood were accurate.
All these were weighed without the container since we're dealing with net weight.
Have you ever weigh the dye powders.

Maybe someone returned the bottle and neglected to tell the store clerk they
used some of it already.

Before I bought the scale I did suspect one bottle and notify Woodcraft. They immediately sent a replacement. After I got the scale I weighed all six bottles The suspected one weighed .79 ounce, the replacement weighed .86 ounce, the third bottle from Woodcraft weighed .97 ounce. All three bottles from WD Lockwood was over 1 ounce.
