Oh - observation and question for using the SMT..

I find that whenever I use the SMT that - even when I clamp it down using the 'knob' that it will still come off the 90 deg stop if I'm not careful - (BTW I am doing it up - but it appears that the plastic clamp 'bottoms' out before applying full clamping pressure - reluctant to modify, not wanting to bugger up parts and then having to replace - as parts are expensive here in Can. (and not so easy to come by))
So by using the 'jig' as described by Loring - and considering that it has some mass to it - will this not make it worse?

Depending on the saw (I'm not too familiar with the BT), the pass is made with a miter gauge, sliding table, or a sled with the blade at a 45 deg angle. The slots can be made with the blade angled at a 45 deg to the bevel already cut.
