    White Oak colored caulk

I'm installing new hardwood stairs. They are made of white oak with oil based poly on them. I've cut as close as possible to install but there are a couple of small spots where I need about a 1/32" bead of caulk. Where can I find caulk to match the wood? HD didn't have any.

Could you mix caulk and white oak sawdust? (granted, you couldn't tube it in)
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

In our shop, we tint latex caulk with water-base compatible tints. Our favorite is Mixol from Germany, but you could use the tints available at Home Depot, etc.. We custom mix the color we need. Learn basic color theory (the color wheel) and you will be able to get the color you need with just a few basic colors.

Also the Mixol tints are compatible with many things. It is expensive, but it is very concentrated. Available at Woodcraft in 20 ml bottles or can be found online. We use it to tint our waxes, epoxies, "tootsie roll" epoxy putty, and use it in waterborne poly to do touchup on scratches.

Ditto on the Mixol. I've used it to color epoxy for gluing tubes into acrylic pen blanks. It should work equally well in caulk. Not sure if you'd be better off starting with white caulk, or something clear, like silicone. Might be revealing to try both.

I use a mixture of either white or clear Polyseamseal caulk and tint. I don't use caulk that has silicone, or that is siliconized. You can use a refillable rubber ear bulb blower, cake decorator, or a refillable caulk tube, or syringe.

For a stair tread, I wouldn't think a 1/32" gap would even matter.

You can also mix latex paint into latex caulk to tint it. Then put it in a squeeze bottle with a pointy tip or something like this:

Thanks guys. I'm going to look into getting some tints and tinting white caulk. One of my wife's hobbies is cake decorating so maybe I'll borrow one of her icing bags. I'm sure that would be OK.
