I was looking at the Colony Soft ADA aproved model 2275.500

It has brass waterways and looks nice. Every box I picked up at the box store today said made in china............sheese....just what the heck IS made in this country anymore?

Find a wholesale plumbing supply if you are trying to get "made in usa". The lines of fixtures the box stores carry are to be sold at a price points, not a levels of quality. Delta, Moen, Kohler, and Price Pfister should have domestically made products.

you cannot get parts for american standard fixtures at any of the box stores or hardware stores, even very few plumbing suppliers carry parts for them. consider them disposable. I just replaced a 3 yr old $90 American Standard kitchen faucet because it had a bad o-ring. it was an odd size, nobody had any parts for it including plumbing shops withen a 100 mile radius. 1 of those shops was Ferguson, which is the largest plumbing distributor in the country.

If it were a delta or moen I could have gotten parts and any box store or hardware store. that is something to consider when the faucet is leaking out of the handle on a sunday afternoon.

Go with the high end ones. I've had my Moen in the kitchen for 13 years and just last month they replaced the cartridge and a couple of other parts at no charge. They have a lifetime warranty for the original owner but I didn't have any prof when I made the phone call.

I have a Delta faucet in our kitchen. We've had it for 7+ years. We recently had a problem, and I called Delta. They sent some new parts. That didn"t fix the problem. So they sent more parts, two more times. Still a problem. Then they sent me a new faucet at no charge. Not sure if it's made in the U.S., but the customer service is good, and it is warranteed for life. It's around $300.00 for a new faucet like that one.

Thanks all for the good advice and suggestions. As for buying a real expensive one, I didn't want to invest a fortune in the 2nd bathroom.
