T V tray?

    T V tray?

    Hello all:
    I want to build some TV trays. I need some kind of idea on how to attache the legs to the tray.
    I want to be able to fold the tray up for storage.
    Anyone have any ideas?

      Well this is what I did ...

      Hopefully I can get these 3 pictures to show up ... basically I HAVE some wooden TV tray's that I bought a while back but wasn't satisfied with the size of the "table" so I used some redwood I had salvaged from a deck we resurfaced and basically copied the store bought trays into one of what I considered appropriate size ... as for connectors ... nothing special (see pictures)

      Hopefully it is obvious that the one on the left is the store bought tray

      On the underside you can see (somewhat) how the legs are attached ... it's almost exactly how the "store" ones are done

              FWIW, Rockler sells a special fitting for the leg pivot.
              You might think I haven't contributed much to the world, but a large number
              of the warning labels on tools can be traced back to things I've done...
