Probably not, but now that I've got your attention there are many facts about plywood that aren't understood. For a description and info about the materials used, these sites cover just about all the bases. Good info. I wondered how that cut the log to get the slices.

I'm puzzled though. I had always refered to the face and side with letters only, such as AB abd AC plywood. I was not familiar with the number grading on the back side.

FWIW if anybody out there happens to be close to the lumber yard CabinetMan had in his link on plywood they have a "special" on 7/8" Cherry at $2.40 Bd/ft. Their website just says that "Special" grade could be #Common or FAS.

May be worth checking out if you are local.
