Thinning Kilz

I need to spray some Kilz primer on a current project and don't want to go the rattle can route. Anybody know what works best as a thinner, before I experiment?

New Poplar const so the stain blocking is not a factor. Just happened to have a qt of Kilz on hand.

IIRC, Kilz comes in both waterbased and solvent base. If you check the can that you have to see what the base is, or what is to be used for a clean-up, that'll tell ya.

That's what I was thinking, too. What I had was the oil based. Picked up a Qt of water based today. Much easier to clean the gun!

I may still test the oil based when I have the time. Mineral spirits is my best guess.

Lots of different Kilz primers. The MSDS sheets are here;

Looks like naptha is used in quite a few of the oil based.
