    Jungle-gym plans/ideas

I'm on the board of a local chamber of commerce. A fundraising idea we have is to build a jungle-gym which we would sell raffle tickets for over a period of six months (displaying it at various community events--letting the kids play on it and then hopefully having the parents purchase a ticket for a chance to win it).

Does anyone have any plans for a jungle-gym? Any advice and ideas you could give would be greatly appreciated.

We are going to approach local lumber/home stores and see if we can't get materials donated in exchange for advertising (i.e. the store's name on all the raffle tickets, etc...). The thing can't be too large as it will need to fit on a flat-bed trailer for transport to the various events. But, we want a parent to look at it and say "yeah, it's worth the 2-3 dollars for a ticket for a chance to win."

    Thanks in advance,
    Ryan

I can't help with any plans, but in my experience with doing raffles is that tickets running $1 each or 6 for $5 work best, unless it's a really big auction item. Most folks will spring for the $5 or $10 than just buy one or so.

Use some niceish wood that's not too expensive.... cedar is nice.
Make sure its able to be broken down, but only with tools (for safety)
Use a lock washer at every bolted joint (safety again)
Add in the delivery and assembly with the raffle.... it'd be no work for the winner= more entries.

here is a popular site for the plastic stuff you'd need. http://www.swing-n-slide.com/

My neighbors have one that is a bridge up to a covered platform with a slide, and then swings/ monkey bars on the side, and I used to love it. It doesn't have to be overly complex for the kids to like it. (Although more complex does look even cooler)

Try http://www.detailedplay.com/. They have some great plans and also sell the hardware kits. Good luck.
