Need some suggestions to fix cabinet door

My wife wanted a desk with clean looks. One unit is a cabinet with a flat,
inset door. She wanted no visible hardware when viewed from the outside
so I used 2 cup hinges and a magnetic touch latch--the kind you press in and then a spring pops the door open. The problem is the hinges have
enough tension in their springs that it virtually overcomes the force of the
spring in the touch latch. It was hard to predict this without completing the
installation. The door only pops out 1/4" rather than 1/2" to 3/4" which is
what I'd need to get a good finger hold on the door edge to open it. I'm not
using a metal plate on the door to engage the magnet on the latch.

The hinge tension is not adjustable. The door fits perfectly. I'm looking for
alternatives or enhancements to the latch before I resort to finding a low
    profile door pull.

I knew I should have gone with the knife hinges.

    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

Many brands of the euro self closing hinges can be made to be free swinging. If you look in the arm of the hinge there may be a wedge (could be plastic) that acts like a cam when the hinge closes. On those that can be changed, pry out the wedge with a small screwdriver, and the hinge will move freely.

Thanks for the tip, Cabinetman. I'll keep it in mind for next time.

I didn't find the wedge but I looked at the catalog number of my order and
the picture in the CS Hardware catalog. I did order the right hinge--with
adjustable closing force--but they shipped the wrong hinge! I just called
them up. They're sending another pair free of charge. If the new hinge can't
be adjusted for less force, then I'm looking for that wedge again.

      Thanks, Paul

You can also get free swinging ones. I forget where but I know I've used them.
