    Painting Vinyl

Most of my free ply has sheet vinyl and vinyl letters on one side he is a signmaker. One pice I will use in the shop has vinyl on both sides. I want to paint the vinyl on one side. Will a good primer such as Killz stick ok or should I get a plastic primer? Can I scuff the vinyl to get a better bond?

It is the sheet vinyl that signs are made from. He makes the signs you see at construction sites. If it helps he cuts the letters/shapes on a plotter. I really can't be any more help than that. It is shiny but construction adhesive seems to stick to it ok.

If it's a rigid vinyl, you should use a plastic primer, if it's a flexible vinyl, like naugahyde, there are fabric sprays that adhere well.
