    Tail vises

I'm wondering who here has one and what s/he thinks of it.

Was it as hard to construct/install as is sometimes reported?

Really, any thoughts and input would be appreciated--I can tell winter is almost here when I start hyper-focusing on something like this (I've got instructions and diagrams in at least five books, etc.)

I don't know if I really NEED one and don't really want to spend the money on one, but I am going to build the very clever one made by Mr. Tom Miller:

Speaking of Mr. Miller, I have not seen him on here in awhile...

If "really NEED one" were a criterion for buying a tool--and said completely honestly--I, for one, would own a lot fewer.

I must be hung over from the full moon because I had that very thread in my bookmarks.

Tom's diagrams and instructions are terrific...and in the tail vise construction world that's a real rarity. Cf the description and pictures in Jeff Greef's jigs book. Actually, don't, unless you want a headache.
