    Installing glass panels?

What do you use to hold glass panel in cabinet doors, retainers clips, 1/4" rounds, silicone, plastic groove type strips or other?

I have seen practically all of those used at one time or another. Silicone can discolor some woods, and quarter rounds might be too bulky for some profiles, but your choice may largely hinge on what you have on hand or can get easily. Regardless of what you use, allow for the probability that the wood will expand/contract at different rates from the glass, and some "give" must be provided to reduce the chance of cracking the glass.

That question can be more easily answered by knowing what allowace is made for the glass. Glass can be installed in a groove created by router bits so it fits like a raised panel, or it can sit in a rabbet, which entails methods of adhesion, or could be surface mounted, using just retaining clips.

It could sit in a rabbet with a wood trim as a retainer, or in a small bead of clear GE Silicone II, or held in with retainer clips either, plastic or metal, or glaziers points.

I like to make it with strips so, in case the glass breaks, the replacement is very easy.

After staining, the strips and the screws are almost invisible (I stain also the screws heads)

I"ve used both 1/4 round and a wood strip that matches the outside of the glass profile. Both have looked just fine. Both were made with a table mounted router and ripped to fit.
