Composite Trim melts when cut-any ideas?

I have been using composite casing in my home for my doorways. Its really nice stuff, but I have to do trimming of it with a jigsaw. When I cut through it with my jigsaw, it starts to kind of melt when I cut. Any ideas on what I should do? SHould I just cut it with a manual saw?

Your best bet is to use a brand new coarse cut blade. Keeping things moving fast enough is the only real key to preventing the composite moulding from melting.

I highly recommend the Bosch Progressor jigsaw blades. The tooth design makes your jigsaw's power go much further, achieves quicker cutting in the toughest materials.
