Picnic Table Mold

Finished a new picnic table a few weeks ago. It was a kit from Lowes, so I'm not sure if it "officially" can be a called a BT3Central project, but thought this forum would be the best place to pose this question
The issue I am having with this picnic table is recurring mold on the surface (see picture below). When I initially built the table (which is exclusively 2x6 pine on the top and seats), I sealed it with a couple coats of Olympic Waterguard from Lowes. After a few weeks outside, I started to see the mold seen in the picture. So I take it back in the garage, scrub off the mold with a water/bleach mix and let it dry. I then go back and put 2-3 very heavy coats of the Olympic Waterguard on again (I was literally pouring it out of the can as it was applied). Now, a month later, same mold situation.
The only item I will note is that the table sits under a large tree on my patio, so it does not see much sun. Even with that, I would think that several coats of the Waterguard should keep the mold off.
Any thoughts ?
