    Casters on mobile cart

When you add castes to a mobile cart, two locking casters or four?

    Thanks,

    Bill

I finished the bases for two mobile cabinets just before the thread mentioned above appeared. I used four swivel castors on each, with two locking ones (wheel lock only) in the front. I'm sorry I didn't see the thread in time.

If I were to do it over, I would use four locking castors -- and use the ones that lock both the wheel and the swivel. They cost a bit more, but are well worth it IMO.

      Regards, Steve.

As the person who started the thread mentioned above, I thought I'd add that it was all great, useful, interesting advice; that the Hartville casters have arrived and that they're terrific; that they're low-enough priced to get all of them locking; and that if you're a woodnet member, you'll get 15 per cent off on top of that, so that four swivel, double-locking castors cost right around thirty bucks, shipped.

Many thanks to Bill, the OP who brought this up. I went back and read the thread from a couple of weeks ago that I obviously missed. I had been debating the 2 vs 4 swivel castors and I'm glad to have help in making the decision.

After struggling with single locking castors on a table saw cart, I had already decided to go with the double lock. Now I know I need to get four of them for each of the mobile workstations I'm planning on building.

Great deal on the Hartsville castors, also. I'm likely to wind up ordering from them.

          Once again, thanks!
          - Chris.
