Of all the cabinets I have ever built I only used hard wood for the face frames. I am getting ready to start on some rolling cabinets for my garage and wondered about using strips of ply for them. Just wondering how well it might hold up or will I live to regret it in the long run?

Plywood face frames....

Great idea! Worked for me! This is 3/4 inch MDF. In the end I did add 1/16 inch poplar trim to the MDF edges to hide the joints. Not terribly fancy, but seems sturdy enough for my purposes. One of these days I will paint it.
I am in the middle of making a five-drawer rolling cabinet using the same methods. The cabinet is built but I have not yet added the drawers. Also seems quite sturdy when rolled around the garage.
