Some really impressive projects already posted!

Here is the one I just finished, a corner china cabinet. Difficulty was getting really nice edges and joints in curly maple, plus all the angles, bevels, miters. And halfway through, a decision to add accents in purpleheart ...

This was a Christmas present for my daughter, and difficulty was exaggerated by pressure to try to get it done in time (and it was late).

But, she loves it, and that's the most satisfying aspect of projects like this.

One of my most difficult jobs was this gazebo enclosure in a hotel lobby. It was about 40' tall and about 60' wide. It was constructed with hemlock/fir lumber boxed out in 2 x 12's and then clad in red oak with a whitewash stain. The difficulty was the overall size and having to work off scaffolding.

The first picture is one of the entrances from the lobby.

The next photo shows the upper sections and the different joining angles.

The next photo shows the structure straight on view and you can see thew people sitting at the bar.

        Got the Plans, finally!

This not a finished project but one that we (LOML) and I will begin in May. I think this will prove to be the most challenging of my life, no matter what I build afterwards. My wife will be the general contractor, she has built her own house before and knows it all. Last one was 3600 sq ft, this one will be 2800 sq ft. Time permitting, I will post some progress pictures as we go.

Designer's rendition of the finished house. 1st pic is the back, 2nd is the front and 3rd is one side.
