    Spray or Roll?

I am making some drawers to put in my daughter's closet out of MDF. Nothing fancy, just cheap and dirty.

What is the "best" way to paint MDF? I am thinking that rolling would be cheaper, but more time consuming (which means it will be longer before i can get to a project I would rather be doing) and not as smooth. Spray painting (I don't have a spray gun, so I would be using spray paint) seems to me to be quicker and may provide a smoother surface. But, I don't have experience with either.

If I sprayed, should I look into getting a sprayer (HVLP or such) to use with my air compressor?

    Thanks,
    Scott

Spraying is definitely the way to go. Some HVLP guns have to be fitted with a nozzle for latex paints. Use a sealer on the MDF under the topcoat. Using spray cans is really a tiresome task. That method cannot compare with spray guns.
