    Sandpaper mistake

Bought some GatorGrit 220 Black Zirconium sandpaper(for wood) to use between coats of poly on a table top.
Not a good idea I learned. After a couple minutes of use, it started to make around the table edges black. I had to clear up with regular brown 3M 220.
I guess it's okay for regular sanding but not for using between finishing coats.
I suppose the black oxide gets mixed with the fine sanded poly powder and made it look like graphite being rubbed on, IMHO.

I quit using black sandpaper on any wood for just that reason. I learned about it on a lathe though
