Melamine, on plywood, not particleboard

Has anyone seen a product, that is plywood based, with Melamine, on one side and stainable on the other?

I am wanting to build a cabinet, that is more easily cleanable.

Check your yellow pages or internet for a local plywd supplier in your state. I use Okume lumber core ply with 1 or 2 side white laminate. On the 1 side white, the other side is a lauan mahogany. You can get this in V/C if you don't like the lumber core. Now a days, you can get what ever kind of wood veneer with a white laminate, melamine or poly on the other side. You can get it so the wood veneer is prefinished and just tape the edges with prefinished matching wood edge tape. You can get some bargins by purchasing damaged sheets. When cutting melamine or laminated plywd, use a 100 T carbide blade for cutting that material. Using the wrong blade will cause the laminate or melamine to chip. I use Tenryu Mel-Pro 100 T blades ATAFR (alternate top face w/raker). They have a new Hi-ATB blade for melamine & veneer plywd. I have not tried it yet. I have used Tenryu Alumi-Cut 7 1/4" 60 T carbide blade TCG (triple chip grind) on my circular saw with much success cutting the Okume sheets with little chips on the laminate. Just make sure your circular saw is in good condition with little or no blade wobble.

It's very easy to glue formica on one side. I pay about $35 for a 4x8 sheet of very thick formica, the thinner grades should be cheaper.
