Why PBS will never air projects from my shop ...

If you look closely at the second pic, you'll see the crack that developed the WHOLE length of the lid. Dry fit after dry fit, everything looked good .... right up until I got glue on it. Needless to say, the words that came out of my mouth would never make it on public television.

Now HOPEFULLY I'll be able to salvage this thing .....
If it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'

It's clear you just nead a multi-$K veneer press to prevent that happening again.

"Here's Thom forming the bending plywood into a dome on the Pennsylvania Shaker keepsake box. Now he's wheeling out the Vacurama Gold Series veneer press which he'll use to apply the Congolese Bubingabolo, sliced off using the 29" bandsaw in last week's episode. Shrip-shrop, that puppy's laid up and applying the self-finishing 10 coats of french polish. Look at that smile on Thom! What a craftsman!!"

    JR,
    Riffin' on a long weekend.

Hey hey now. You could actually do that with one of those little 55$ veneer presses, sorry for the terrible luck. As to the TV stuff, that's why they invented "editing". ;-)

You still have a chance for a PBS show. From what I hear it's usually the third one they show on the air.
So you got one more try.

What crack?? I don't see any cracks. I'm sure your language wasn't any worse than mine after I dropped a brick on my toe today. And that was after giving myself a blood blister with a rubber mallet, tripping over the hoe and finally wacking my forehead on a drawer. All in abour 4 hrs.
