    Bandsaw Box Help Needed

LOML just informed me that I have to turn out 6 of these for gifts at her parents 50th anniversary party. Only problem is it's in ONE MONTH. Does anybody have a tutorial on how to make them?

Get this book. Lois is great at explaining the techniques. There are several patterns included. After you master these. go for your own designs.

The book should be at B&N, also.

      Hey Gary,
The book Ken linked is what I started out with and it's tops IMO. I did this alittle over a year ago. http://bt3gallery.fhauto.com/view_al...umName=album34
      It might help alittle.
IMO these are more sanding boxes than BS boxes and I don't know how I would get one done without an spindle sander. If you google BS boxes there are alot out there to give you design ideas. Have fun. Pat

I agree with both of these guys, I also have that book. There are a couple of shortcuts that you can take compared to how Lois makes her boxes. If it's a simple design, you can make one in about 3 hours, discounting the finishing process. The more compicated designs will take a while.

I also use a spindle sander, which makes life a good bit easier. I cut the outside profile before ripping the front and back off, using a 1/2" blade most times, then switch to a 3/16" to do the interior cuts.
