    Countertop Jigs

As several members seem to be starting kitchen renovations/re-builds, some may involve fitting new countertops. If you use the post-formed (rolled edge) variety, a jig is required to perform an accurate mason's miter.

Although these jigs can be expensive to buy for a one-off, it's possible to hire them. I did a page a while ago explaining how these jigs work and this may be useful to anyone thinking about this operation. You'll find the page here

You'd need a very accurate CAD drawing to get anywhere near close enough for a copy to work, Wayne. The reason why they're so good is because they're so accurate and accuracy costs. I wouldn't even trust a copy if I used the original jig as a router template, plus if any of the pins was not a dead-on fit - forget it!
