Temperature in the shop finally got below 90 yesterday so I went out to get the boards for my flag case project to the final width and length. Plan calls for 3 3/4" width so I measured twice and promptly cut the first board to 2 3/4" ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH! Board on the far left is the evidence. I think brain cramps must be part of my genetic make up. So...I went back in the house and watched a movie.
Ken, not picking on you here.....but.... "I measured twice, cut twice and the board is still too narrow/short" eezlock
You gotta sneak up on those widths to get it just right. If you need 3 3/4, start with something 5 or 6 inches wide and keep cutting off slivers and re-measuring....haha.
I'd almost rather go an inch too far. I HATE cutting to the wrong side of the blade when not thinking about which piece I'm keeping and which I'm not and it's a saw kerf too short or narrow now. THAT is aggravating.

Steve
whats even worse is when you rip a board near the middle, and you can't remember which piece you wanted to keep.
