    Mounting pegboard

What is the minimum depth required behind a pegboard to slip in the brackets?
I was thinking 3/4", but I'm not sure, never use it before.

You could probably get by with as little as 1/2", but most people use 3/4" because one-by lumber falls readily to hand.

If the question is whether you need MORE than 3/4" ... no. At least not for any hooks that I've ever seen.

The little spacers that come with the kits of hooks I buy are only about 3/8" thick.
