    OSB Finish

I'm planning to install OSB on the inside of the walls of my shop.

I've used it before and found that pieces start to peel off over time if it's left unfinished.

My question is this: Is there a finish that I can apply to the OSB to keep it from peeling?

I plan to paint it White, over a sealer/primer of some sort.

Would that be enough to keep it from "peeling"?

What would you suggest as a primer/sealer to apply under the Paint?

I would use latex paint with a base primer.

You can also use garage floor paint on the wall for durability but I have never seen it in white color.

I have some OSB walls inside a shed that were primed with latex BIN or 1-2-3 (can't remember which) and painted with latex exterior house paint. Its been at least 6 years with no delamination.

Thanks, Tom, that's the kind of information I'm looking for!

This will be inside, so it's not exposed to weather as such, just "age"

I have a garden shed that was built 4 years ago, has OSB on the outside.
I used an exterior grade stain that still looks good and no visible problems I can see.
As they say, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere, IMHO.

I have finished 2 garages with 7/16" OSB covered with latex primer and white gloss interior paint and never had a problem. It's easy to install and makes for a nice bright shop. The other advantage is you can drive a screw and hang things most anywhere as long as it's not too heavy. My current shop/garage was finished with sheetrock and I always need to find a stud and/or hang a plate.

I also used some on the inside before and never had any problem with peeling. I put a primer on it and painted with latex.
