    Glue removal

My neighbor has a oak table which he asked me to repair. A small hall type table.
When he sat on the top the narrower bottom piece (which contains four claw type legs) split cleanly.

I wanted to put it on my router table with slot cutter and some #20 biscuits but in addition to screws there is a square inch or so of glue on a couple of the feet and I am afraid of damaging the wood.

Any good way to loosen the glue grip?

You're probably playing a guessing game as to what kind of glue it is? Heat from a heat gun or blow dryer will weaken Titebond II (and similar products). Steam and some water drops will weaken original Titebond and hide glue. I've not tried heat on poly or epoxy but it may help. Depending on what kind of glue was originally used you may need to be careful to remove all of it before gluing the repair back. Good luck.
