Making Progress

Finally got to the point of starting assembly on my end tables. After what seemed forever making parts, I started the assembly on the first table today.

The base is the first pic, all the mortise and tenon joints are pegged with walnut dowels and the shelf floats to allow for movement.

In the second pic I laid the top on to see how it comes together. The only metal in the project will be the "Z" clamps that will hold the top.

I'm pleased with the way its finally coming together. Now to assemble the other two tables and start the finishing process.

The finish is going to really accentuate the walnut pegs. Looks great even without it.
