    Caulk removers

Anyone ever use the products that are to remove old caulk? I need to clean and reset the frame to the doors on the bathtub. Silicone caulking. Got it off the tub/enclosure with a razor blade and 320 grit on the ROS but i don't want to use the same methods on the aluminum frame.

Can't help you for your specific question but I will share a solution that helped in cleaning up caulk - acrylic or silicone - Acetone does a GREAT job in cleaning up the smears.

You might want to run a cloth wet with acetone over the aluminum two or three times and see if that loosens it any or makes it easier to take off.

Thought about that, but didn't have any last night. Did try Naptha and laquer thinner with no results.

I make sure my back starts acting up! Then, LOML Tina, hits me with 'FINE' and attacks the caulk. :-D

Ken, I think you need to clarify the context of that one. LOL
