wall mount flat screen TV

I have a 32" flat screen TV, that needs to be mounted flat (without tilt vertically or side ways) against wall. It needs 4" rear vent space, considering building economically as possilble.

Anyone have suggestions or plans?, thanks in advance.

Didn't the TV come with built-in mountings for a wall bracket? They usually do and getting a bracket kit for specific model TV flat panels over here is quite simple. YMMV, of course.

If none of the above applies, I'd have a look at where the air vents are. They're usually just along the top section of the angled back and - as long as they're kept clear, 4" off the wall sounds a little OTT. Hopefully, someone who's tried it will jump right in - could you post the make/model, which may help a little with the suggestions?

Well, we've actually hung a few flat screens on the wall. They're not very heavy. A Philips 20" will weigh less than twenty pounds. We've hung several 42" flat screens from the wall and from the ceiling. In every case we've used a mounting bracket that came with the TV or an aftermarket bracket. There are plenty of aftermarket brackets out there.

Four inches behind the set sounds like a lot of clearance.

We've been putting the electrical and cable outlets behind the set right under the mounting bracket. Makes for a clean looking installation because you don't see any wires, you just see the TV.

any suggestion of particular aftermarket bracket that may work, manual recommends 4" clearance but since it is LCD (not as much as the plasma) less clearance should be OK.

Amazing coincidence - just renovated our lounge room - red wall and new Toshiba 42" LCD. LOML bought the wall bracket at K-Mart (about US$85). We had others install it for us.
WOW - what a picture

The bracket/TV mounts moves the LCD away from the wall by about 3-1/4"


BTW - be careful how high you mount it - I had to lower it to about 1/2 way down the center speaker you see.

No recommendation here of particular brand. If you go to Amazon and do a search there you can get a pretty good idea of style and price.
