Sculpted Rocking Chair Class - Day 1

As promised, I'm posting pictures on what happened in class today. I'm at the Marc Adams School of Woodworking taking a 7 day Sculpted Rocking Chair class. The pictures are:
    • A finished rocker - very comfortable to sit in
    • Our class and workroom waiting to get started
    • Rockers being glued ....
    • and Clamped. I definately need more clamps. I counted 31 on one glueup.
    • Two pictures showing my side view templates. We spend most of the day reviewing the design on the chair and making out templates. Almost every student had a different design. Mine is a more straight style which i selected because my rear chair stock has a grain pattern that matched the angles shown and I wanted to highlight that.

I got out at 7:30 after putting the finishing touches on my templated. Tomorrow we switch our attention to the seat.
