    Patio Trolley

This is the project I mentioned in Tool Talk. It's to be a wedding present for my niece.

It calls for using FF biscuits in the miters of the trays, but neither of my biscuit joiners support the use of FF. I'm looking for other ideas on beefing up the miters - splines? pegs? M&T?

    What's your input?

Good glue and a few brads should be all you need.
...eight, nine, TEN! Yep! Still got all my fingers!

Well, that's simple enough! You think it will hold together?

If you have a table saw how about some splines in the miters using wood of contrasting colour?

If you don't have a table saw then cut them carefully with a hand saw and it will work just the same. The joint will be very strong indeed with the splines glued in and particularly so if you take advantage of the grain orientation.

The splines will also look good and be very strong if you make them from a good quality birch ply 3/32 to 1/8 thick.
