    Blondewood

I have seen this "Blondewood" plywood in Lowes at about $29 / 3/4" sheet and was wondering if anyone had used it and what it was like.
Does it stain and/or paint well and what about how it cuts e.t.c.
Not sure if it is worth buying instead of Birch or Oak but the price caught my eye.
    Thanks

I have used the "blondwood" from Lowes for shop cabinets and it seems to have worked ok for that purpose. I wouldn't use it for "nice" furniture type projects though. The outer ply is very thin and I read (in another thread onBT3central) that it was made for some fast growing type wood from South America. That may or may not be true but the "blondwood" I got from Lowes had "made in China" stamped on the edge so I imagine it's the same stuff that is sold as birch (made in China) from HD.
