    Miter Sled

I just put together an album of the construction of my updated version of the miter sled.

A fundamentally sound sled but I disagree with the others about it being good looking. The blue t-trac just cries out "CLASH"! I think you should use a more color co-ordinating color to the wood such as gold. Plain silver would also match the overall picture.

          Runners

          Pappy,

In your description, you mention that the runners will need to be removed and re attached several times, why? I just do not see why you would need to detach them once they are installed.

BTW - Great looking sled! I only ask the question because I have EVERY intention of completely stealing that design, and then bragging to all of my friends and family that I designed it myself! So I need to sound like I know what I am talking about.

The base/runner assembly was one of the first steps I did since the fences have to be squared to this assembly. They had to be removed to add the aluminum edging, the header block, blade guard and fences. I could have done the edging first and then done everything else with the runners attached. It will have a sprayed on laquer finish, so they would still have to be removed to apply the finish.

That looks great, Pappy! Thanks for taking the time to post a step by step with pics. That just bumped up a few notches on my to do list.

                  Regards,

I'm going to have to take the other fellas' word about the sled. Me, I got completely sidetracked by the Victoria's Secret ad ...

The slide show ran through several times before I noticed the blue track. Nice yellow finish though. Thanks for posting the pics. looks like another project in the making

KEWL jig. Do you think puting one end on a pin and the other end on a sliding track would work to adjust the angle?
