I have decided to build one of these mostly for safety reasons but also for their accuracy but am wondering what the best or should say useful size would be? I'm inclined to think the bigger the better but wanted to get some opinions. What do you guys use or think is the ideal size. I don't have any one project in mind but more or less one for everything. I use "the Grr-Rippers " for small stuff and have a 12 " sliding miter saw so I'm thinking it'll mostly be for like square stuff that is too big for the miter sled and too square to cut safely on the rip fence. When I say too square for the rip fence I mean that in my opinion anything that isn't longer then wide by quite a bit isn't safe to cut against the rip fence due to kickback potential. And since we are on the subject do most use plywood for the base with just 2x4 fences? Thanks for all replies.
