furniture plans,sources,considerations

Hey guys'

i have some questions and some requests for a HUGE multi-part project im taking on for the rest of march into april.

a friend is buying a small condominium apartment and has asked me to do some work in it. needs painting inside, lvr and mbr need wrap around shelves (2) in aromatic cedar. floors need sanding(maybe just some patches/closets that other guys didnt get done well) and tracklighting hitting the shelves which will hold stone/copper tree sculptures he makes.

he also wants 3 pieces of furniture made,again out of aromatic cedar. a full-size bed, a small computer desk unit, and an open bookcase (maybe arts/crafts style) i think the bed would be real hard to make out of cedar and told him that,he'd like the showing faces to be faced/veneered with it,sounds like alot of extra work but its what he's asking for at this point.

so my Q'. how could i tackle the bed bed issue?what would you use for the main wood? i might be able to score some nice african mahogany for it. it'll have a boxspring and a memory foam mattress..i have to woodburn native/southwestern design onto it as well...
but mostly worried about where the heck to find this much eastern red cedar!! this's my biggest concern i think
my friend bill(crashresq here on bt3) sent me BEUTIFUL cedar that im making a war-shield case out of, but he's wayyy on the other side of the country in OK, and not sure he'd even have this much.(and i still havent finished his flutes,lol! soon bill,promise! )

My request: i'd really appreciate if anyone has plan-sets for these shelves/furniture projects maybe grabbing a copy,or if theres something online you could link to(i've found a few so far just looking for more options) free or otherwise would be great.
1 thing he wants is for the pieces to be easily transported,ie: knock-down or fold-up or something.i thought maybe through-tenons with pegs for the bed? or isnt there "knockdown" hardware?whatever's better but speed/ease in building it is important!! i dont make much furniture,this stuff will/should be fairly rustic looking,


oh! ........ and did i mention it needs to all be done by april 1st, or mid april the latest?! i cautiously said i'd do my best and left it at that..!

A furniture maker that I have dealt with has a list of reputable wood dealers taht he has used. Here's one that lists cedar (under fine soft woods) http://www.walllumber.com/

Price listed as of todal is $1.80 a bf. The ship freight, 100 BF min. Don't know what prices would be to L.I, but you might call and see. They are in North Carolina... Note, I have not used this company, and don't know much about them, but someone that I have dealt with (who is fair, reputable, and reasonable) feels that that are the same.

im also considerign now ,g ettign 1/2" tongue/groove cedar flooring for the shelves. so far te downside is that its 5-3/4 wide which may be too shallow. doubling it would be too deep,so i'd have too much waste unless i find this flooring in thinner or wider strips. i think 8 or 9" deep is my target. who knows maybe the 5-3/4 will be ok, gotta run it past the friend. maybe its enough for those trees. hope so! will save me alot of surfacing and dimensioning.
