    F L A S H !!

I have just seen the new Demo!!

    W O W !!

    I LOVE IT!!

    YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

It's something that we (I) have wanted for a long time!!

The Demo, right now, is NOT ready for the general public... Things have to get fine tuned and ready for the huge amount of Bandwidth that will be required... It wants to work flawlessly without ANY dissapointments. The Demo is expected to be made public next week or so...

    Guaranteed... you WILL love it!!

Note: link is to a single-page web site with small hard-to-read colored font with teaser text and contact-us email links. No actual demo is downloadable or provided. All content is provided by other established sources - TWWC is the aggregator, not a provider, of said content.

You can go to the Future Site and sign up for News... or just wait for more News to be posted...

This is a "Heads Up" post to tell everyone "It's coming & almost here". I'm excited about it...

There is News on the site now... the font size didn't bother me at all... sometimes I use a magnifying glass or change the text size in the browser.

      Sorry, for the confusion...

I think they had a problem... I went back & did it a second time... all OK now...

I was one of the selected few to get a peek at the Demo before it's release to the public...

This is really going to help a lot of woodworkers!! [8D]

interested, but I won't hold my breathe. I've seen/heard too many time how "this is the greatest thing to happen to woodworking" about shows and magazines. Way more than half are gone. and the others become run of the mill (same type articles over and over) very quickly.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.

                    Hi Mike,

I have seen a 'sneak preview' of the demo (which is incomplete)...
... AND NOT AVAILABLE TO PUBLIC... YET...
I can tell you this is different... this is Internet based... but very close to a TV Channel, etc. There IS advertising, to pay for it.

You might say "I am holding my breath" and can hardly wait for it to open up!

You will like it... I'm sure...

                    ================================================== ==
                    I received the following email:
                    Hello -

My name is Reed Smith, and I am the president of The Woodworking Channel.

I would like to thank you for signing up to receive updates on our upcoming launch. We are excited (and a bit overwhelmed!) at the response we've gotten so far! We're hard at work preparing some great programming and, as a woodworker myself, it's a privilege to be able to deliver this resource to fellow craftsmen around the world. Our goal at The Woodworking Channel is and will always be to provide exciting content that informs, educates, enables and inspires woodworkers of all skill levels.

Based on some of the emails that we've received, I'd like to take a moment to answer a couple of your questions and tell you a little bit more about the channel we're preparing.

First - The Woodworking Channel will be free to watch.

Second - You will not need any special software or hardware to view the channel.

Third - There will not be any adware, spyware, or spam associated with the channel. We will also never distribute our email list to any third party.

The first time you tune-in, the site will automatically check your system settings to make sure you have a recent version of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player installed. (The channel also supports Firefox and Netscape browsers. Safari will be available in about a month). While the site will work with a dial-up connection, those with a "broadband" or high-speed internet connection will be able to enjoy an even richer broadcast experience.

Our schedule will include some of your favorite woodworking shows from some of the most highly respected woodworkers around the world. You'll enjoy classic episodes of The American Woodshop, The American Homeshop, The Router Workshop, The Great British Woodshop, Woodworking at Home Magazine as well as other productions, and we are continually working to bring even more instructional and entertaining woodworking video to The Woodworking Channel. We are also currently developing new, original programming that will be broadcast in the future.

The Woodworking Channel is being created by professional woodworkers with the woodworker of every level in mind. Our greatest desire is to provide programming that reflects the interests of our viewers, so we welcome any thoughts, ideas or suggestions.

Please contact us directly at comments@thewoodworkingchannel.com

We'll see you online soon -
