The LOML talked me into a SawStop (something about how can I provide for her if I am missing a body part or 2). If anyone is interested, I have owned this since new (1993) and it has been a hobby saw. It works great, no shim issues. The mitre clamp has a broken knob but works well. I replaced the crank wheel (to raise/lower blade) several years ago with a universal one.
