    BT 3100-1 parting out

I fried the motor (hence the screen name: Motorfried) on my BT3100-1. Shop says buy a new saw 'cause a new motor is about 230 bucks! So, anyone need any parts off mine? Hit me up if so.

If you like your BT, don't give up on it yet. Here is a used motor currently up on Ebay, and new ones can often be had for much less than what you have been quoted, especially if you can hang on a bit 'till the deal comes along... Might also be a good idea to look for burned brushes in your motor, which can be replaced for a few dollars.

      Motor

I had the same problem several months ago. It turned out to simply be the brushes. I replaced them and then bought another motor off Ebay for a "backup", in case I needed it for the future.

The one presently on Ebay looks real nice and clean - for what thats worth.

I'm going to part with the saw. I got a good deal on a delta 36-979.
If anyone wants parts to the Ryobi, I'm located in Portland, OR.
