    HD Gift Card on Ebay

    SOLD

I don't typically post with links to Ebay items, especially mine, but with the current MS Cashback deal, this $500 gift card will end up costing only $375. That's a pretty good discount on a new Ridgid TS3660 table saw, TS2410 jobsite saw, BS, planer, or jointer! (plus anything else HD sells) Add a 10%-20% coupon and get an amazing deal on something!

    Item number: 190262136133

Most of the HD and Lowe's gift cards are selling at a premium above face value, this one is a straight deal so I don't expect it to last long.

    SOLD

I wouldn't, but if people are actually buying the ones selling above face value it's because the MS 25% Cashback still makes it lucrative.

Because they would use the MS live rebate and get cash back. Basically the buyer and seller are splitting the cash back rebate.

          Face vale $500
          GC Price $550
          Cash Back -$137
Net Cost $413 for a $500 Gift Card

The concern I have is what protection do you have from someone selling the GC, keeping the GC# and using it online after they ship it to you. Similar to the people who approach you at the store asking you to buy their card for $.75 on the dollar and then you try and use it and there is no value on it.

PayPal offers some buyer protection that would reimburse you in case of blatant fraud.

Not just online. They have also scanned them at the self checkout AFTER getting the money from the buyer (read on CLcrimewatch or however it is named).
There is no way to guarntee it hasn't been used after it was mailed, but the recommendation on these (any bought gift cards with bar codes) is to have it transfered to another gift card that the seller, never had posession of.

from some of the FW posts i read, buying a GC on ebay and then reselling it on ebay will disqualify the cashback..i guess you need to use a separate account for both?

OK, I'll admit that I don't know the difference between MSCashbackLive and the MS 150 but these numbers suggest that another 'bailout' may be in the offing. Somethin' smells fishy...no offense.
