    FS:Sears Craftsman pro router fence

I have two of these fences that I got on clearance at Sears a while back for about $30 or so.

These are nice solid aluminum fences with great built in offset capability for doing edge joining and could be used for other uses as well.

They are the same fence that comes on the Bosch 1180.

Here is a picture of the fence on a craftsman pro table.

Selling for $30 each + shipping or pickup in Southfield, MI.

    Thanks,

    Julian

Those of you that need a fence for router table - this is a good deal. Hardware alone (knobs, tracks, dust port) are worth that much should you try to build your own fence. This fence can also be adapted to mount to BT3 rails if you make your own mounting brackets. I would have grabbed one but I already have it.

They also make nice fences for drill press tables.

What is involved in adapting this to the BT3100? I just got my BT a few weeks ago but I do not have a router table, just an older Craftsman router.

First you need to mount router into accessory table. If your router fits into native holes - lucky you. If not you will need to make or buy a mounting plate. Ryobi has such plate in its kit or you can easily make it out of plywood.

Adapting the fence is not difficult. You need to make new mounting brackets for the fence. Original brackets are made for craftsman router tables. Those tables have V-groves and brackets have matching expansions. You can grind off those expansions or you can make your own brackets completely. Mine are made of 2 angle brackets on each side riveted together for strength. Angle brackets are Simpson's brand 4"x4" brackets from Home Depot (They are used for fences). A couple of hardwood blocks go over rails to raise the level to match that of a table. T-bolt and a knob from Rockler kit (one on each side) completes the setup.

Thanks, vaking. Seems like a good concept. There are some of these available on Ebay as well.

To all that are interested - one of the fences has been paid for as is thusly sold to thomas, and Papa has dibs on the 2nd fence, and if for some reason he chooses not to buy it, I will contact whomever asked about it after him.

                    Thanks,

                    Julian

I need to read this forum more often but, I just came home from Sears with that same fence that was on clearance for $45.97. Seems to be a great bargain anyway. Glad I stopped, was on my way to get some baltic birch to build my fence with but, like vking said, I would have had more in it buying all the hardware necessary and probably not have had as good a unit.
