Little more info Kyle, what kind of motor and lathe. Belt drive (I assume)? You might get a good replacement by taking off the old one and call around to some electrical shops. You might be able to get a used one in good shape for next to nothing, or they might be able to rebuild the old one for less than a replacement.

Kyle- per your PM, here's the motor plate from my 1948 Delta. It should be fairly easy to find an equivalent motor that will work. I believe the pulley's are still available from deltamachinery.com. It will be worthwhile to restore it. Mine runs great.

Also, go to http://www.owwm.com/ and download some of the old manuals. They talk about the motor set up in them that might also help.

Kyle, I see by your post that you livein Michigan, try W.W. Grainger industrial
supply they have motors for about everything you could want. On the web..
type www.grainger.com and start there or have them send you a catalogue
only about 4010 pages but it probably has exactly what you need. eezlock
