Prove your manliness by mastering this jig! I couldn't do it, but other much more manly men have on this forum. I will even include the infamous Woodtec instructions. I have done you a favor by throwing the HF instructions away. That alone is worth the asking price! LOL!
Why bad mouth the item? Because I'm selling it so cheap that one of you manly men will buy it!

That sure looks like my General, except that mine is green.
I did the same and bought the PC4212.
I may still go back and try this one on smaller jobs, as I have bought multiple templates for it.
The biggest problem I have is finding bits long enough.

Is it that much? Where did you calculate it to?

Coast to Coast is $25 shipping, South is $14 and NE is $10 via UPS according to their rates I checked. Maybe this is not feesable.

Scrap metal pricing

You might want to check what you would get for the scrap aluminum?? Even if it is less than the $10, you would have the satisfaction that it was melted into something else and will never bother a woodworker again!!

My suggestion would be to salvage all the knobs and such for future jigs...more than $10 worth right there.

Thats great. My FIL collects cans (much to my wifes dismay, as they are wealthy and she thinks that others will think we took their money!lol! ) mostly for environmental reasons, but he does get a few dollars for it. Maybe he would be interested.

Or I could give it to someone I don't like!

Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way. Could it be used for something else? Like gluing up compound miter joints or something?

What problems did you have with it? I have never tried a dovetail yet, but it seems so much like the more expensive ones?

I would be up for giving it a go someday.. but not in the near future. It would probably be cheaper to torture myself on yours then buy the HF myself...

I admit it took me an evening and some scrap wood to get it setup, but after that I have been making dovetails that fit like a glove. I caught it on sale and used a coupon ended up paying $29 for it and I consider it a real bargain.

Well that means you are more manly than I,though I do feel real manly right now as I am replacing the motor on the outside unit of our 6 year old AC unit.
