Why don't you try wide table kit. It is a full length set of rails identical to what you have now and connecting hardware to attach to existing. Make sure you get the kit for BT3100, not the BT3000. The correct kit should be below $100.
I got mine from a place called M&D mower if I am not mistaken.

I have my cut offs from when I did mine. I think they are approx. 13 inches? I'll have to check when i get home from work. I bought them from ebay. There is a seller there that also has all the hardware for the conversion. I plan on buying his miter slots (L/R) as well. Very prompt and reliable service.

Having the wide rail kit makes it nice not having to adjust them every time you need to cut long boards. I am designing support braces for the ends to keep level and secure.

what's all included in the wide table kit?

From what I remember from when I got mine:
it contains a set of the Rails (41" long),
a set of Connecting Hardware to tie the rails to the Original ones,
a set of Angle Brackets to hold the user furnished top in place,
a set of "T" nuts that work with the Angle Brackets for the Top,
            and a sheet of Instructions.

Be careful to order the Correct Kit as the Rails are different colors (Black vs Silver) and I think the prices are different also.
Stop thinking why you can't and Start thinking how you CAN!

I think that part will fit the 3100 too, but the 3100-specific part numbers end in 1. The wide table kit w/black rails is 4730301. I found it at ordertree.com for about $88.

I never realized the rails had different profiles until I read this whole thread. I bought black rails for my bt3000 wide table project and I can deal w/the color difference but not profile.

Soooo, now I have a set of black rails w/end caps for sale. PM me if you're interested. I've also got a NIB set of silver rails w/mounting hardware from Craftsman. I'll list them w/pics in a separate thread tonight if they're still around.
