    Paver Update

Finally signed up a contractor that had the right answers, and presented himself and his company professionally. His crew showed up on time, and left 4 hours later. These pictures were taken about 45 minutes before finishing. What a pleasure not to do anything but watch.

Watching and drinking a cold beverage is the best way to lay pavers! It's definitely worth what you paid not to have to do it yourself.

Glad it finally worked out for you.

Might consider having several cold beverages and call the guy who got fussy about having other bidders and really tell him why he didn't get the job, and brag about the one you found.

Just don't give him the name of the guy who did the work. The bozo could start to bad-mouth the guy you used.

A job well done and needless to say,

it looks great! I agree with Erik and Bob; let the dingbat know why he didn't get the job. And I suspect if he had done the work, I doubt it would have looked this good.
Congrats and have another cold one for me...

They are cemented on the outside edge.

that's what a contractor did to mine. 2 years later, i removed the concrete and replaced it with solid plastic paver edging with 12" spikes. thankfully, no movement in the 2 years since.

The 12" spikes aren't used in this area due to the type of soil. It's just too soft, especially when the ground gets wet.

Looks great Cman, that work really is an art onto itself. FYI, seal that after the surface is clean of sand. I got some sealer from a Paver Warehouse type place, around $85 and basically its acrylic dissolved in xylene, but it helps to lock the sand in the joints and prevents staining of the paver. The surface is easier to keep clean as well. Enjoy

unfortunately no, its a local distributor who probably gets it from a chem supply. Something like this is what I used, matte - keeps them looking new without the gloss...

                            That's some pretty expensive sealer.
