Generator won't start - any suggestions?

    If it is an overhead valve you can remove the valve cover and push on the valves with your thumb or finger. The springs are not very strong. I had to do one on a gokart this summer.

      There is something causing the valve to hang up, maybe varnish or grit which really should be dealt with. Just pushing the valve back down could compound the problem.
      Sometimes the old man passed out and left the am radio on so I got to hear the oldie songs and current event kind of things
