    Hanging kitchen cabinets on brick

I will be hanging our kitchen cabinets, but need some advice. Part of the cabinets will be attached to brick walls covered by 1 1/2 inches of plaster. It was suggested I use Tapcon screws for this.

Any other suggestions, or is Tapcon the way to go?

    Thanks

Ditto on the Tapcons... You can also use cleats, screwed (w/Tapcons) to the wall, and then hang the cabinets on the cleats.

If you're all set up to install and you have the cabinet aligned where it goes, here's a suggestion. If your cabinet has a hang rail for mounting, use the masonry bit for the size of the Tapcon being used, and drill right through the rail into the brick. Make sure the hole depth is slightly deeper than the screw used. Use a cordless drill and drive on slow speed and when almost seated, bump tighten the Tapcon.

If it's real brick, try to get the screw in the brick, not the mortar joint.
