I wonder if the security light has a photoeye gone bad. The photoeye would normally keep it off during daylight hours.

The only junctions are where the wires from the light attach to the feed wire and that is enclosed by the J-block and the base of the security light. Prior to the installation of the soffit the wires came through a hole in the plywood soffit and were contained within the light base against the plywood with a gasket for waterproofing. The gasket is now mounted against the J-block.

Thanks, Charlie, for that suggestion. I'm going to try the security light in another location tomorrow and get a new light to try at the problem location.
