Help! Removing concrete plug from core bit before rental due back

    Help!

I've got a 3" core bit that I just finished drilling with and the concrete plug in the bit will not budge! Any suggestions?

It's similar to this Hilti bit here:

It's due back to the BORG in a couple hours.

    Thanks!

Couldn't you just use a plain old concrete bit and drill into the concrete until it breaks up?

Tap on the back with a brass or heavy rubber mallet. You can also use a little water to help. Rinse it under the hose first, then tap. Soap would help too.

You can also hit the outside of the bit with a torch. It may swell enough to let go the plug.

          Thanks everyone for your ideas!

Slytooner's idea of soap is what did it! I was afraid to use my own masonry bits on it since the guy at the store made a big production on how the bit was $200+ and if I screwed it up it was going to be my bit.

I figured I'd wait until I absolutely had to drill it out...

          Thanks again- you guys rock!
