Which first Wall drywall or floor Underlayment

This is an odd question I cant find much advice about on the net...

Im gutting the entire house... while remodeling, and curious to know if anyone has experience or reasoning whether to put up the wall drywall or lay down the floor underlayment first. (Mind you not the subfloor which its commonly confused with)

Im guessing that the wall may be best to go up first, just in case the flooring ever needs to be redone? but the same could be said about the walls..

If it matters im planning to carry out the simple caulk and seal (SCS) method of insulation, where you seal off the air gaps by caulking when possible. (most importantly floor to wall)

    Any experience or advice appreciated.

    drywall

I have always done the drywall first in an attempt to keep the underlayment in as clean and pristine condition as possible. Good luck!

The trim will cover any gap between the finished floor and drywall.

So put the drywall up first, making sure you leave plenty of room for underlayment/flooring installation.
